Picnic Recipes - Romantic Picnic Recipes To Enjoy On Those
Lovely Warm Summer Days
Picnic recipes spring to mind when we look forward to getting outside and enjoying those lovely warm summer days
that are so special for us in these busy unpredictable times. One of the simple activities which find our favor is
the old fashioned picnic, where we can find a pretty spot in the woods, or by the sea, enjoy the scenery and a
picnic lunch. A picnic for two is an economical yet romantic outing that you can put together on a moment's notice.
All you need is a picnic basket and a few well-chosen picnic recipes for a memorable outing. Here we've got some
fabulous recipes, along with a few tips on picnic food safety to help you out.
Let's start with the picnic basket. Whether you choose the rattan picnic basket or use a thermal cooler, you'll
want to buy a couple of those freezable and reusable blue ice packets or plastic blocks. Just before packing your
basket with your picnic food, place the frozen blue ice in the bottom of your picnic basket. If you place your
basket in a shaded location at your picnic site, your food will stay cold all afternoon. This is the important
safety tip to keep in mind, as most picnic recipes are fairly perishable.
Now, on to our simple, but delectably romantic picnic recipes.
1.Just about every supermarket now carries a variety of freshly
made breads. This is easy picnic fare and quite versatile. Tear off a chunk and top it with any of the following,
or eat it plain.
2.A carton of fresh mozzarella cheese is worlds apart from the
hard type used on pizzas. With its mild flavor and light, creamy texture, this cheese is delicious in several
recipes you can assemble on the spot. For example, you can place a slice on that chunk of bread, or add a couple of
slices to an impromptu salad.
3.Bring a container of mixed greens (available ready—made at the
supermarket). Place on top your blue ice, the greens will stay crisp until lunch. A few wedges of tomato, a couple
of slices of the fresh mozzarella, a sprinkling of basil (fresh or dried), and a drizzle of Italian dressing atop
your greens, makes a heavenly salad in a matter of minutes.
4.A chunk of smoked salmon from the deli is another rich and
versatile ingredient for picnic meal. Eat as is, put a small portion on you bread, or add as a side for your
salad.
5.A container of one of the fancy cheese spreads (such as the
Alouette ® brand) can dress up a chunk of bread nicely. With a slice of deli roast beef, you've got a great
sandwich.
6.Last but not least, a couple of ice cold beers, or a split of
wine – or champagne – complement all of your picnic recipes admirably.
The preparation and storage of all of these components of your picnic recipes is easy, convenient and
impressive. This romantic picnic outing will be remembered for a long while to come.
